Crazy.Stupid.Love

Went to see Crazy Stupid Love with the hubs for our anniversary date and I think we were both pleasantly surprised.
Though I had to do a bit of convincing, he wanted to see Rise of The Apes (90% consumer rating on Rotten Tomatoes) I wanted to see Emma Stone.

It's a movie about a woman who cheats on her husband, and devastated, he goes about discovering himself, in a rather whoreish manner. He is coached by Jacob (Gosling) on how to dress and pick up ladies.
Obvious hilarity ensues, but the true brilliance in this gem of a movie is that is unintentionally funny.

In all the movies I've seen staring Emma Stone (Zombieland, Easy A, House Bunny) she is funny, a little kooky, she is the epitomy of crazy sometimes, especially those eyes, and though she didnt have a biggest part in this, I still thoroughly enjoyed watching her.

Ryan Gosling is delightful in this movie, where normally I think he's weird with his girly features (long curled eyelashes, sunbed tan) and MAN is he ripped.

Steve Carrell is funny. He just is. He is likeable, vulnerable, you get annoyed at his stupidity, and then appreciate it. He is one of those people you always cheer for, he's an every day guy and in this, perfect. His chemistry with Julianne Moore is real, and while you want to hate her, its hard to blame her (not that I condone cheating at all, this is purely performance based).

Kevin Bacon is in this, he looks like Skeletor.

Marisa Tomei is also in this, and she is ALWAYS excellent with a little bit of crazy.

Beware the BABYSITTER, she is an odd little duck, from the way she talks to the way she looks ... like maybe her eyes might bug out.

RECOMMENDATION: Go see it with someone who wants to see an easy fun film.

RATING: A delicious Gelato, which is what I ate while watching it.
