Warrior

The hubs and I went to the movies the other day and debated between seeing two movies.
The Debt (which is already highly rated and positively reviewed) and Warrior (no consumer reviews as it was a sneak peak) and being the compromising person I am, we saw the movie I wanted to see, Warrior.

It's the story of an estranged pair of brothers, both fighting for something important to each of them. They haven't seen each other in years, a family torn apart by the alcoholic abuse of their father.

When I saw the first preview of this movie, I wanted to see it, not for the content, but because I'm a huge "How I Met Your Mother" fan, and the main women is played by a key character from last season. In this movie, she plays the wife of Joel Edgerton, and I love that she plays a gritty character, who doesnt always look perfect, and walks around in her undies looking like she just woke up. A nice bit of realism.

I'm always super supportive of Australian actors, and Joel Edgerton played the underdog in this movie. He and Tom Hardy play the estranged brothers.

Tom Hardy is insane. He is quality in Inception (the only movie I've seen him in).

Nick Nolte plays the recovering alcoholic father, and his character is the heart of this movie.
His performance draws you in, the mumbling, the rawness of his emotions, it's intense.

I'm not a big MMA fan, but this movie has some pretty gnarly fight scenes and I was on the edge of my seat absolutely enthralled in what was happening.

The guys in this are ripped, ridiculously, and if you like a good fist-to-face movie, this is for you.

RECOMMENDATION: See it. If you enjoy a good solid movie plot, with quality actors this is it.

RATING: A large Sub Zero Premium Caramel Ice-Cream.
